Friends, please join us for this free informational event where adults who have emancipated from the foster care system will share their valuable stories and experiences.

Every year, more than 1,000 young adults age out of the foster care system in the state of Ohio, often stepping into adulthood without the support many of us take for granted.

Join us for a time of listening and learning as adults who experienced foster care and emancipation share their stories, experiences, and how a supportive community can make a lasting difference in the lives of those transitioning out of care. This event aims to raise awareness about the need for more foster families, the need for ongoing support for emancipated youth, and inspire those who feel called to take action.

In this interview, our Executive Director Melissa Morris shares the story behind Forested Families. Learn how the organization is working to combine practical resources, mentorship, and community to create lasting impact in the lives of young adults exiting the foster system.

Forested Families is a faith-driven initiative dedicated to supporting youth who are transitioning out of foster care. Our mission is to create a nurturing and supportive environment for these young adults as they embark on the journey to independent adulthood.

At Forested Families, we believe that everyone deserves a place to grow, thrive, and find their way. Our organization is built on values of love, community, and opportunity. Whether it’s helping with basic needs like housing and food, or providing mentorship and life skills such as obtaining a driver’s license or finding a job, we are committed to helping former foster youth establish a foundation for long-term success.

This website is just the beginning of our outreach. We have just recently purchased a large home that will be used for our Pilot Program. This home needs a complete renovation and the work is about to begin! Updates will be provided as we embark on this huge project.
